Corfu Food & Wine Festival

Corfu Food & Wine Festival  will be held from 9 / 5 / 2018 to 13 / 5 / 2018.

The aim of the Corfu Food & Wine Festival is the emergence of gastronomy as the main feature of history and culture in Corfu.

Corfu Food & Wine Festival is the collaboration outcome of the Ionian University, Corfu Chamber of Commerce, Ionian Inspires [Non Profit Organization],association of Restaurant Owners & Associate Professions, Club of Chefs, Vocational Training Institution of Tourism and Union of Hotel Owners. The festival is organized under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organization, the Regional Government of the Ionian Islands and the Municipality of Corfu.

The first day of the  Festival will be a big party, a feast of gastronomy and music in Spianada, with the participation of the Philharmonic and Choir that highlight the Ionian music. At the same time, there will be a street party with gourmet trails (Spilia’s tsipouradika, the Mediterranean flavors of Gillford Street, the city’s restaurants).

The following days are devoted to “wine tasting routes” in the Corfiot countryside, either in village squares or in organized areas. On these routes and in consultation with local cultural associations, participants will come in contact with their locals and their traditional cuisines.

Along with experiential gastronomy and tasting seminars, the festival will be framed by exhibitions of photography, painting, and many other events. World class Journalists, personalities of gastronomy and tourism will participate in versatile ways during the Festival. One of the guests will be Leonid Gelibterman, president of Moscow’s International Center of Wine and Gastronomy.
