Corfu Children Friendly Beaches

Corfu island offers to its visitors all types of beaches, but when travelling with the little ones, they are definately your priority. Usually what you are looking for is sandy beaches with shallow, crystal clear waters. So here is a selection of children friendly beaches around the island.

Corfu Children Friendly Beaches – South West

Corfu’s entire south west coast offers long sandy beaches with crystal clear waters.Chalikounas, Issos, Marathias & Gardenos are the most well known. All of them are organised offering sunbeds & umbrellas. Water, refreshments and snacks are available at the beach cantinas or sea view tavernas.
Tip: Avoid them on windy days, since the sea can become rough and the wind really irritating.

Corfu Children Friendly Beaches – South East

Corfu’s south east coast does not have many beaches that worth to be mentioned, but there are some that worth visiting especially when travelling with children. Peristeres is one of the local families’ selections;a rather small beach with crystal clear waters. Heading south there is Messonghi’s beach, a good choice for families. Finally at the south end of the island, in Lefkimmi, you will find Bouka. Organized beach with sunbeds, umbrellas and a beach bar. The waters are shallow and clear.

Dassia Beach

Corfu’s north east coast has many gulfs that formate beautiful beaches. Most of them have pebbles, but there are some sandy ones that you and your family will adore. Dassia & Barbati are two very good choices close to Corfu Town (aprox. 20min drive). Both beaches are sandy with small pebbles, organized and most of the times their waters are clear. Watersports are available on both beaches. Heading north Kalamaki & Agios Spyridon are the best choices. Especially Kalamaki is an organized beautiful long sandy beach with really shallow, crystal clear waters.

Corfu Children Friendly Beaches – North

At the north end of the island in Acharavi, Sidari & Roda you will find long, sandy, organizef beaches, perfect for the little ones. Watersports are available in all of them.

Kontogialos Beach

Some of the most famous beaches on the island is Glyfada, Kontogialos & Agios Gordios. All three of them ate on the west coast and yes they ate children friendly. Long organized sandy beaches with many sea view cafes, bars & tavernas. As with all west coast beaches, avoid them in windy days.
